Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has announced that he survived a major road accident during a trip to the eastern part of the country.
He made this known through his Instagram account, @yuledochie, on Wednesday.
He wrote, “All I can say is thank you Lord, thank you Jesus, thank you Jehovah; God is real and God is alive. Thank you blessed mother Mary.
“I left Lagos yesterday (Tuesday) heading to the East; just before I got to Ore doing 100-120km, my car lost control and started veering off to the right.
“I tried to steer it back on track and the next thing I knew (was that) I was upside down tumbling till the car finally ended up in a gutter.”
Edochie said he miraculously came out alive with few cuts and bruises.
He added, “I thank the Almighty God for His mercies; I thank our blessed mother Mary; and to all the angels sent by God to protect me always, thank you.
“I also thank all my fans and friends all over the world, who always pray for me and wish me well. God is alive.
“Life can end in a second. The money, the cars, the mansions, the fame, the good life (are) all vanity. Be close to God. God is everything.”
The president of the Confederation of African Football, Ahmad Ahmad, was arrested Thursday at the Berri Hotel in Paris, France.
He was said to be in France to attend the FIFA Congress.
Jeune Afrique made the announcement and specified that Ahmad will be heard by the services of the Central Office of the fight against corruption and financial and fiscal offenses (Oclif).
The arrest according to the report is linked to the contract unilaterally broken by CAF with the German equipment manufacturer Puma to engage with the company Technical Steel, based in La Seyne-sur-Mer.
He had defended himself last April and gave the assurance that all decisions were transparent.
